Ms Pam Chaffin

Pam Chaffin has been teaching for 11 years. She is currently in her second year as the Director of Bands at Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, FL. Ms Chaffin holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Louisiana State University and a Master of Music with an emphasis in Wind Band Conducting from the University of Tennessee. Ms Chaffin’s teaching responsibilities at Mandarin High School include: the direction of 2 Concert Ensembles, Jazz Band, Chamber Winds and the Mighty Mustang Marching Band. Her bands consistently receive superior ratings and receive accolades at evaluative and competitive events. Ms Chaffin is a National Board certified teacher, has served as the All District Band Chairperson, been named to “Who’s Who” on several occasions, been recognized as most influential teacher for the past 3 years, won the Coca Cola National Educator of Distinction, and most recently, been selected by her colleagues for the “Tom Bishop Award” which recognizes remarkable positive impact on a high school band program. Her professional and honorary affiliations include: MENC, FBA, FMEA, WBDI, CBDNA, NBA, and Sigma Alpha Iota.
